I take it you don't have marriage cert, for confirmation of her father's occupation? And whether he was 'deceased'
Also the names of witnesses...........

Lancsopc has several possible candidates born between 1820 and 1825. As said, you would need to know the occupation of her father to be able to narrow it down.

thanks everyone Mike I think that was my tree, have deleted that as a result of finding the above select marriage record, wasn't available several years ago.
Your right about the marriage cert, but not til after Christmas. 1841 is interesting, Altham is about 12 miles from Darwen and Darwen to Whalley the same but so is the owaldtwistle birth. This the third set of gg grandparets i have hit a brickwall with :-( :-( :-(

Lancashire BMD site gives Oldham, St Marys as the place for the marriage; sadly, Ancestry's images for that church only go up 1845.

familysearch has images of Banns for St Mary's. This is the image for James & Ann:

For some reason it has a cross through it. The banns were called on the 8th, 15th & 22nd Mar 1846.

Just received James and Ann's marriage cert. So disappointed. There is no occupation noted for either parent and there is no occupation noted for Ann. Both are noted as - of full age Witnesses are Abraham Jackson and Joseph Newton, so no help.
Any idea's Maddie
