Thank you so much Chris, That looks good, it looks like I have found the elusive Edward Gardner . Your help has been fantastic, I think things are beginning to fall into place now. I will advise that the gentleman purchase a marriage certificate, so that we know that there can be no mistake. It's a shame that EDWARD'S military service record did not survive as that would have answered so many questions, still, I think, thanks to your help, that we are now on the right track. |

Thank you Mary. The gentleman probably already has that info, but I shall pass it on ... he told me that his family have traced the Culverhouse family line way back to the 1600's. It is his grandfathers side of the family, the Gardner's, that he knows nothing about. No one spoke about his grandfathers family, and he is wondering why? Why was there such a secret? |

Mike, No, I do not have Edith Culverhouse's DOB, the gentleman did not pass on any Culverhouse information, his interest lies in his grandfather. He knows absolutely nothing about his grandfather, other than the fact that he was awarded a WWI medal and that he married his grandmother, Edith Culverhouse in 1928. |

Thanks PricklyHolly, I was aware of that, ... EDWARD GARDNER isn't related to me, I am asking on behalf of an elderly gent in Australia, who contacted me asking for help with his grandfathers military record ... our conversation has since progressed, and the old man would like to find out more. I thought I would ask here on Genes - was hoping someone might have Watford Parish marriage records on CD before emailing the old gentleman and asking him to part with his money to buy a marriage certificate. |

It would be in your best interest to purchase a copy of his first marriage cert. |
