the marriage can-not be correct as Sarah was born in 1855 she is recorded as Jane on later censuses Enoch was born in Great Bridge Staffs not Shrops,
I haven't go the cert yet.

Thank you Chris, i know I need certs but which ones to get? there are too many to get them all, so which ones would help the most?
we have a marriage of Sarah Jane Baker married to Joseph Pugh in 1874 and a marriage of Sarah Jane Pugh married to Enoch Price in 1880 but in 1881 she was in Stourbridge with Joseph I know this census is correct because her sister Margaret Baker was with them.
So if she married Enoch why was she back with Joseph a year later?
I think I have got mixed up somewhere but there are so many things that don't add up.

Hi Chris just seen the rest of the post from you wonder if that is our Enoch Jane was a servant at his house in 1891 so you wouldn't think she would let them be in that state there were
Henry age 8 in 1891, enoch 7 moses 6 don't know who their mother was as haven't found a marriage for him except the one to Sarah Jane Pugh in 1880 also on the census for 1891 is Lily Pugh Price who I presume is his child by Jane, also her daughter May born 1895 was name price Pugh and David was price Pugh also, she must have been going from one to the other.

Hi Chris, that was me 4yrs ago and I,m still as confused now as I was then although have a little more info I stopped researching this family but then decieded to give it another shot thats why I am appealing for help again. other than getting all the certs to see which kids belonged to who don't know how I,m going to find out and I can-not afford to get them all.

Thanks Polly and Rose, think the marriages for lucy and martha in wolverhampton are more likely to be them, there is a marriage for Sarah Jane Pugh[Jane} to enoch Price in 1880 but in 1881 she is living with Joseph in Stourbridge as his wife,with samuel and David and Margaret Baker who was her sister, then in 1891 she is back with Enoch as a servant.

Bilston Cruelty To Children

At the Police Court yesterday, Enoch Price, a, miner, was charged with neglecting his children. Mr. Rowland Tildesley prosecuted for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The evidence showed that the children were in a most filthy condition and in rags. A fine of 20s and the costs was imposed.
