I agree that we should know what is on Mary Ann's marriage certificate about her father, definitely before anything else can be said or done

I just happen to have Castle ancestors from not a million miles away in Wiltshire :-)

in 1841 (barring mistranscriptions and excepting spelling variants) there were only
50 Castles in Wiltshire
155 Castles in Gloucestershire
(and 40 Castles in Worcestershire)
and 29 Castles in Bermondsey

so ... you never know!


that Mary Ann baptism in Tewkesbury is the only baptism showing to those parents at familysearch ... so perhaps other children, other places it doesn't have records for ...

seems a little old to be a son and a little young to be a brother, but if that couple did turn out to be Mary Ann's parents, Thomas could be worth looking at

I tend to think that her being born in Tewkesbury and her parents being farmers in Surrey 20 years later is a little unlikely but you never know :-)

On that 1871 census I put up it says that Mary Ann Peart is Nearly blind from birth and so is son George.

Edit so is son Willliam on the 1871.
