Find Ancestors

Whilst chatting with a (almost 80yr old) pal a couple of days ago she told me she knew nothing of her parents but would loved to have known more( family was never talked about at all).....so I thought I would have a snoop and surprise her....

I cant find her father.....this is what I have on him (have found a lot about mum, so no help needed there thanks)

Edit.....ruled out, found on 1911 with parents

There's another Arthur - Kate combo in 1911, which is more likely to be the couple who married in 1909


The husband died in 1917, having been born in Ceylon

So that definitely rules out that marriage

.........trouble is, there doesn't actually seem to be one!

and I can't find an Arthur Churchill, butcher, on a census before 1911

Any thoughts please, Jacqueline has given details below but its seems awful odd and a huge coincidence same on both marriages....

I searched Arthur Churchill, 1873, Hampshire (taken from 1911 census, replacing London with Hampshire)......

Fredderick Arthur (Longman) Churchill came up on Churchill/Cake family tree and I set to work.....

Frederick A C Longman married Jessie Newbery......left her and lived with Kathleen (Kate) Smith who I believe is Harold Leonard's mother

Pork butcher in 1901, don't think him and Kate ever married as Jessie was still alive(although cant find her in 1911) He got "rid" of Frederick and Longman to become Arthur Churchill with new family....

so is harold registered as Smith then ??
