Hi can anyone help. Delphine was the daughter of Marie J Davidson and William Westwood. I believe she married someone call West in 1952 Cannock, Staffordshire registration district and she lived with her mom and dad prior to that in Penkridge. i haven't been able to trace her after that. Grateful for any help!!

her mother seems also to have been an only child

I was wondering if she was known by her second name, but possibly unlikely if confusion with Mother's name would ensue.

Just there seemed a lack of any further records of her or the daughter born 1954, so I was also wondering about emigration. (And that there appeared to be only one child)

As hibbert said that the stepfather became his stepfather, would be interesting to know when he had last heard anything about them.
