Looking at your previous thread, and bearing in mind the old registers are bad to decipher, I wonder if you should check out the William Morrison Barwick christened Aspatria 10/9/1775?
Reasoning being, mother was Amy, father Thomas and they look to have had 5 children - with William being the last - so did she die shortly after his birth?
Christenings: 5/12/1765 Christopher 12/11/1769 Joseph (recorded as Berwick), assumed born before this next one 12/11/1769 George (recorded as Berwick), born 1/9/1769 9/6/1772 John 10/9/1775 William Morrison
Now all these children were christened Aspatria (and I agree Spaytree is how the locals say it I have work collegues who still say it that way) with father Thomas and mother Amy. BUT, no more children to them, rather perculiar unless one of them has died.
So, next Thomas marries Margaret Crone 14/5/1780 and they go on to have the following children - is this the same Thomas?:
Mary ch 18/8/1782 Amy ch 17/8/1783 (named after dead wife?) George 2/1/1789 Joseph 8/8/1890
Then your William Morrison appears to have the following children:
James ch 15/9/1811 (mother Elizabeth Lamb) Amey ch 22/1/1815 <<maybe after his mother Elizabeth ch 8/9/16 Sarah ch 1/6/18 Catharine 22/7/21 Thomas 2/2/23 << maybe after his father
This is all speculation, but not all the records have not been transcribed for Cumberland, nor for Durham, and they are really difficult to decipher at times - with water/damp damage inflicted on many of the registers.
