Reggie, I'm afraid you had those comments coming. Whilst you're an excellent researcher and very helpful you do need to temper your "no frills" approach with an insight as to how people may perceive your comments. I must admit to wincing sometimes at what you say.

Linda, don't throw your toys out of the pram because of comments you don't like - it takes all sorts and people have different styles. It is helpful to us if you do say where you've already looked.

You may or may not have already tried the following:

http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/NewSearch.php
You can do a free search but if you sign up you can purchase any records found.

I guess you're already familiar with FamilySearch https://familysearch.org/ but were you aware of the records they have that aren't indexed so don't come up in name searches? Under the Durham Diocese images they have Chester-le-Street records from 1765 to 1837. You have to patiently browse through the images but it can be well worthwhile.

Having been brought up to reply politely and in a friendly manner to letters, I always try and help on here in the same vein - as if responding personally to a person requiring help. It takes for me to be 'short' with anyone let along someone who is new to researching.

Meanwhile, in case Linda has given up, I will let her know that there is some more advice for her. :-)

I do hate replying to people who then edit their post twice probably three times....which then makes my reply look stupid

I might as well open another account and talk to myself :-D

Well done Linda,

Can see how much time you have put into researching the resting place of your family members.

Once again good luck with all your research - tracing family can and should be fun as you are finding out!!

Best wishes,
