Strange, when Ellen was christened her father was recorded as Johann Peter, but when she married 26/12/1904 she named his as Peter, deceased tailor - but the death appears to be 1906??

Not finding them on the 1901 census either, or Maria, supposedly born c1885, in the 1891 census.

EDIT BUT NO SIGN OF NAME MARY ON THE IMAGE ITSELF

Groom was Johanna Peter, widower, of full age, a tailor, son of Johann Worsdorfer, farmer, decd.

Emma Pike was a spinster of full age, daur of Thomas Pike engineer decd.

Both bride and groom gave address of 21 Brewer St.

One witness was an Elizabeth Pike. I think there are two others, Heinrich Illegible and can't read the other one either.

EDIT: Seems to have been over written as Heinrich William Thilo (or Philo) Bradlaugh (surname might be misread), so just the two witnesses after all.

Just to say that the 1882 marriage image states Emma Pike's father to be Thomas Pike, a deceased engineer.

Emma Calloway/Callaway Pyke's father was Charles, a retired customs clerk according to census 1901.

Looks like the two marriages are definitely for the same chap, with father John/Johann being a deceased farmer.

Was daughter Maria named after the first wife?
