Can anyone please help me find any information on the marriage of Mary Ann Summerfield to John Wright. This would have been after 1866 (when john's first wife died). Mary and John had a child Alfred b 1869.

And incidentally I cannot find which wife Alfred married. It is either Lizzie Carr or Eliza Page

Where did they live and how have you got her name? Is it from a birth cert?

I don't see any such marriage on FreeBMD, 1865-1870.

What a mess these marriage transcription are. The one I posted is from freebmd; Ancestry has the same plus a Maria Rosser but on the image her page No is 318. Am checking the images for William White married Dec 1865 - the freebmd image is not complete. Will try Ancestry.

They lived at 5 Frederick Place in Hackney. Got Mary Summerfield's name from Alfred's birth certificate. When does the 1821 census come out?

Might be worth knowing that in 1881 Alfreds father was a boot maker

Ancestry not bringing up the correct page but have paged through and William White has the correct ref, it Hackney, 1b 818.

The 1871 census posted by Potty will be the correct family, I think, as here are John, Robert, and Richard in 1861, with a different wife/mother:

But then the 1865 marriage can't be the right one, unless John and Susan had divorced (unlikely), or John committed bigamy.

Caroline, do you mean 1921 census? That will not be available until 2021. If you mean 1821, the first full census was taken in 1841.

definitely discount henry Alfred...his father is a builder on the baptism image.

The address on the 1861 census I posted above is 5 Frederick Place, as Caroline says.
