According to a tree on Ancestry (no source attached) James Thirkell married Annie Proud on 12 Mar 1872, Crook, Durham, St Catherines Church

Well well, so there were another 4 younger children! My goodness this family certainly bred well. The older members of the family who stayed in the uk all seem to have had 6 or more kids. Its taken me ages writing it up.annie was very young when she married, only 17!

marie celeste the last brother of this family is James thirkell b 1853. he married Ann? b 1854.
They had 4 children jane1873,Joseph1874,Mary Elizabeth1877,John William1879

I dont know when they got married as on the record it says the details were not available or unreadable so dont know her surname.

They could indeed have gone with them or soon after. I have been trying to trace whether they all got maried but given there are lots of thirkells and especially jane and john, i havent found anything concrete.

Well going abroad might just answer the reason why i couldnt find them! I did look for deaths here in uk but again didnt find any. The surname of holliday was her maiden name so could be related to sarah?
