I know how to copy and paste but for some reason not the census returns off Ancestry onto here!!
James W Girven/Girvin died 1901 not 02 he was the son of Garnet Girven born Ireland 1815 and Elizabeth 1811 Ireland.

Thanks for all your help Mary but I cannot find a connection with James W Girven and Dacre Walker. What I might have to do is get his Death Certificate.

Reggie he was living in Egremont Cumberland in the 1861 Census. Does not give his Christian name (most probably unrecognise) but shows Elizabeth his wife on there..

The 1871 found by Mary shows them living at 4 Hope Street, which is in central Barrow-in-furness. An area where many migrant workers rented homes.

It's highly likely to be him, the head of household Henry Fox is also a stonemason born Lamplugh, Cumberland - so same areas as both lodgers. In the 1860s there was a massive movement into the area for work - many (including some of mine) came from the Egremont area.
