Registered Birmingham 4th quarter 1859 6d 119.
Don´t really want to go to the expense of buying the marriage cert as they are the in laws of my g aunt, whose children I am trying to trace in Canada. Thought I might pick up some clues from Honora
Thanks for looking though.

On the death certificate for son George Patrick, 1931, Toronto, Ontario it says mother Honora Murphy was born in Ireland.

Thanks Margee.
Yes, I have all the info on George, Annie & Charlie. Annie (Ann Maris Sewell) was my gran´s sister.
I know that she & george had a stillborn son not long after they arrived in Canada, then a son called Kenneth whose DOB I don´t have, but he was a similar age to my father who was born in 1918.
Kenneth was married twice & had 2 sons,Barry & a much younger one who was born to his 2nd wife. One of his wives was called Margaret & I think the other wasBeryl. Judging by the census, Kenneth was born 1919/20.
I am intrigued to work out who Honora Murphy was. She can´t have been born in Ireland if her birth was registered in Birmingham, although I have no doubt her family was irish & they were obviously Cayholics.

Ann Cardiff
Thanks for looking.
Anna Susannah died in 1886 when she was a year old.

Gee

Gee Report 2 May 2014 07:04

Could she have been born and baptised in Ireland (there are possible baptisms for her in Ireland) and moved to England very soon after

The birth then registered in England?

The death record that Margee mentions, definitely says she was born Ireland

I don't suppose you know if she had any siblings?

wisechild

wisechild Report 2 May 2014 08:02

Know nothing about her at all.
Did find one possibility on the 71 census a few months back, enumerated as Another Murphy, daughter, with parents Patrick & Susan.
Wonder if the enumerator mis heard Honora for Another
In this game, anything is possible.
It´s not a mistranscription because I´ve checked the image.

I wondered about Ann S too.
Pretty sure no one would name their daughter Another.
Also, Honora & George named their 1st 2 children George Patrick & Anna Susannah,so maybe we´re on the right track.
Thanks for the help .

Mary Report 2 May 2014 14:46

Patrick was a boot maker, the same as George Eaton.
George is lodging with a family in 1881 and down as married.

She wasn't with dad and mum Patrick and Susan!
