Most Yallop trees I have seen have Robert Yallop born 1710 in Brandon Parva Norfolk to Charles Yallop (alias Spelman) and Eleanor Barkham. However I cannot find any documented proof of this. I have also seen references to Robert being "disowned", leaving siblings Elizabeth and Edward. Also reference to a document held in the Norfolk Records Office transferring land from Dame Frances Cramond (nee Napier) to her daughter Eleanor and then on to Robert. If anyone can help me prove the relationship or has knowledge of any documents I would be most grateful. Regards, Kevin.

This lordship came to Charles Yallop, Esq. (only son of Sir Robert Yallop, Knt. of Bowthorp by Norwich, and Dorothy his wife, daughter of Clement Spelman, Esq. of Grays Inn, London, a Baron of the Exchequer) on his marriage with Hellen, only daughter and heir of Sir Edward Barkham, Bart. of Westacre; whose son and heir, Edward Yallop, alias Spelman, Esq. conveyed it to Sir Robert Walpole Earl of Orford, and in that family it remains.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have looked at all the information and followed the links. The key to my problem of Robert Yallop being the 2nd son of Charles seems to be... "Notes for Robert Yallop: Shown as a widower in church records when he married Elizabeth Basey, Robert Yallop who was a farm bailiff of Brandon Parva, received a grant of 32 acres of land and messuage. The land was transferred from Frances Napier (Lady Cramond) to her daughter Eleanor Yallop (nee Barkham) and hence to her younger son."
1. I can find the marriage records online for Robert to Elizabeth, but no earlier marriage 2. I cannot find any evidence for the grant of land. I understand the relevant document has been seen in the Norfolk Record Office but that is the only info I have... there is no reference to it online that I can find. If I had any clue where to look in the NRO I would visit myself, otherwise it would be like "a needle in a haystack" Thanks for all your help Kevin.
