I'd noticed that mgnv on other marriages I'd looked into, not just from the Wigan area either, long lists of marriages, all with the same witness. :-) |

mgnv, thank you for all this, it just helps when I was going round in circles. I'm going over to wiganworld in a mo, so will check all the cemeteries. |

Margaret - you're probably already aware, but just to make sure, if you take the cemetery URL, then there's links to half a dozen cemeteries in the left margin - including Ince Cemetery, which was literally the other side of the track, being accessed from Warrington Rd rather than its offshoot Cemetery Rd asWigan Cemetery is. |

Thank you so much mgnv for all the info, some of which I do have, some I don't, so it helps enormously. I have been checking the deaths on wiganworld, you have found more, will pop on later and have another look. Peter Baron and Ann are Mary Ann's parents, Ann nee Howarth, so I'm definitely on the right track. Will copy all this info and sift through it, Cheers. |

The one who married Molyneux was born EARLIER than 1840 - unless she lied about her age which would seem unlikely, as she was OLDER than her husband |

Just checked the Lancsbmd again and yes , Mary Ann was born Wigan 1840, no doubts, so where was she in 1851???? I'm going to check the death records tomorrow in case she died and another daughter was born who they named Mary Ann. Thanks guys for your input. |

Very strange Mike, in 1841 Mary Ann was on the Wigan census with Peter Baron and wife? Ann. |

Yes I'm right with you on that Reggie, just didn't want to send for a birth cert that might not be the one I want, no probs. |

The occupation for this father doesn't match |

The point I was trying to convey is that the girl in 1841 was probably not the one who married in 1858 |

Maybe this is the Mary who married in 1858 aged 20 |

She's definitely Mary Ann Baron and her marriage if it's the right girl, says William as father. |

This is the one I thought possible, because a Richard Molyneux was witness at the marriage of my g.grandfather James Howarth in 1868. |

So...who are you related to? |

|
ErikaH | Report | 15 Feb 2014 22:50 |
The marriage seems to be for an older girl |

I've got that Reggie, with full details from All Saint's Church records in Wigan. |
