Unless she changed the 3 to 4 because Neva wasn't the daughter of George Henry!!

Have had a look but can't see Nellie on 1901.

Noticed on 1911 that Lois stated she had 3 children all living, then crossed it out and put 4 children, all living.
I'm just wonderin if Nellie was in fact their daughter, or just a relative?
Have also looked for a baptism for Nellie to check father's name but can't see a baptism either, shame, only way to be absolutely sure would be to buy a copy of her birth certificate.

Can you see Nellie Tolley born 1896 on the 1901 census.
She is with her mum 1911.

That's what we need to know. The key is really the birth and marriage certificates of the children to see if he was in deed the father of the younger children and if he was still around at the girls marriages. This will at least narrow down a death date.

So was George Henry about in 1903!!

She was actually born in Didsbury Manchester 20/11/1903,accorrding to a tree on ancestry.

Somebody has a connection, looking at the 2 links posted earlier, not sure if he is shared in any 'Members Trees', or any other names from family.

I came to the same conclusion Gins.
I believe the correct George Henry joined the army (see earlier posting).
He looks to have fought in the Boer War, so may have died then although can't see his name on the list of casualties, and his wife is noted as married in 1911 and not widowed. In which case where was he in 1911?
Can't see anything in WW1 records, but his could be one of the many destroyed in WW2?
So still haven't answered the original question. :-(

The G H Tolley who was in the Boer War, as posted above by Chris Ho, was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal - as were all personnel who served. From that, I would guess he survived the war?? Maybe??:

So military records fit with 1901 census. Looks as though we've found him.

Just noticed, military records state he was discharged in 1894, so still haven't found him in 1911.
However, if he fought in the Boer War, also then maybe he died in the Boer War?
