i have applied for his death certificate and also navy records from national archives.

Peter, it may be that he was in receipt of a navy pension due to injuries sustained serving in WW1 and that is why his date of death is recorded on his navy records. As Reggie has said, the only way to be sure of the cause of death would be to checkout what is recorded on the actual death certificate. Given the date of his death, the cause may well be related to injuries he received during the war.

So buy a copy of the death cert.....................if you really want to find out the cause of his death

hi Reggie,
thanks for your reply.
I have his seamens will and his certificate of service and on the certificate of service says he died 20.1.1920. i have looked on the web at navy records but the numbers on the paper work i have don't come up with any information.

If this is his death........buy the cert, to find out the recorded cause

Deaths Mar 1920 (>99%)
WEBB Albert E 24 Kings N. 6d 20

It's unlikely that his death had anything to with his being in the RN

hi, i am looking for any information on albert edward webb B1895 D1920 he was born in birmingham. he was in the royal navy and died while in the navy but can not find out any information about his death etc. in the navy.
