Im having 2nd thoughts about him serving overseas, from info by googling it looks as though the 3rd battalion never left the Uk they were used to garrison Newhaven. |

Unfortunately it looks as though his service/pension records have not survived, but not unusual as only 30% survived bombing in WW2. |

according to his medal card on Ancestry he received two medals, The Victory & British Medals, both of them are standard medals issued to all troops who served overseas at that time |
