Henrietta married George smith in 1853 "both of full age". I can't find a birth register for her. Her father is listed as unknown on marriage cert. they were married in melford Suffolk, but I think she was born in Essex. Although the borders where very close |

Is this your family? Henrietta b 1835/6 according to this, so pre GRO registration, you will need parish registers or possibly family search. But as she has been described as full age (21+) in 1853, then it might be a bit earlier! |

The 1841 you refer to. Ann Bird is aged 6, if correct that makes her born 1834/5 |

It does look like this is the right family. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever be able to prove it. Thanks for your help |

Melford and Liston are only about a mile apart, just happens Liston is on the Essex side on the county boundary and Long Melford in Suffolk. Both are about 2 miles North of Sudbury, Suffolk |

Maybe worth checking the Petty Sessions in the area at her birth time? |
