Would a death cert from 1946 say if someone committed suicide ?? |

If that is what the cause of death was, then yes it would. If that was the case you may also find that an inquest was held, and that details may have been reported in local newspaper. |

You should do - the newspapers held on GR from the British Newspaper Archive stop at 1950. |

Surely it depends if it was obviously suicide and suicide is not the actual cause? |

I don't think a death cert would tell you if someone commited suicide. |

they usually say, taken their own life, not committed suicide. |
