Ummm, maybe something else to look into,

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 20 Nov 2013 01:23

and familysearch has other baptisms to the couple

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NNHZ-R5J
Matilda Ellen Ewing 1831 (so maybe Ellen had died?)

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NVYG-P5Z
John Ewings 1834

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NN9D-9NQ
(Richard's marriage 1850) (in 1851 he is Ewin)

(Mark just to note that you may have all kinds of information but what is in your head doesn't help other people to do searches so that is why it is posted here :-) )

The question is whether the parents were living in 1841, so at least we know they were living in 1834.

a possible death for John

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JHBK-S4F

Name: John Ewing
Gender: Male
Burial Date: 15 Jul 1849
Burial Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Age: 65
> Birth Date: 1784
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B05345-5

oops and another possible and maybe more likely

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JZMX-791

Name: John Ewing
Gender: Male
Burial Date: 26 Feb 1842
Burial Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Age: 46
> Birth Date: 1796
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B03604-9

and this looks like it could be the death of an infant son in 1841

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JCPJ-B7Q

Name: Thomas James Ewing
Gender: Male
Burial Date: 05 Sep 1841
Burial Place: Liverpool, Lancaster, England
Death Date: 01 Sep 1841
Age: 0
Birth Date: 1841
Father's Name: John Ewing
Mother's Name: J. Ewing
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B03072-3

edit - likely the 1796 John and this is likely Jane's death:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NG44-1PY

Name: Jane Ewing
Gender: Female
Burial Date: 10 Jun 1838
Burial Place: Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Death Date: 06 Jun 1838
Age: 39
> Birth Date: 1799
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B01140-5

so before 1841 ...

Er, except that would mean the Thomas born in 1841 would not be hers !

are John & Jane really another couple anyway since there are not baptisms for the actually known children, Mary Ann and Elizabeth?

I keep coming back to this, John Snr is listed as not born in County and is a pensioner.

Name: Richard Harwing
Age: 12
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1829
Gender: Male
Where born: Lancashire, England
Civil Parish: Liverpool
Hundred: Liverpool
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England
Street Address:

Occupation:

View Image
Registration District: Liverpool
Sub-registration District: Howard Street
Neighbors: View others on page
Piece: 557
Book: 4
Folio: 34
Page Number: 8
Household Members:
Name Age
John Harwing 40
Mary Ann Harwing 15
Richard Harwing 12
Matilda Harwing 9
John Harwing 5
William Harwing 3
Elizabeth Harwing 1

Richard, Matilda and John would tie in with the correct ages, Mary Ann would be 5 years younger than in 1851 however the 1841 census did round up within 5 years for older family members.

I'm pretty sure either Mary Ann or Elizabeth married from Collingwood street, I'll check in a minute..... but this death ties in,

Burial: 15 Jul 1849 St John, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
John Ewing -
Age: 65 yrs
Abode: Collingwood St <<<<<<<!!!!!!
Buried by: R. W. Wolseley, Curate
Register: Burials 1849 - 1852, Page 389, Entry 3112
Source: LDS Film 93826

Edit, Mary Ann's address given on her marriage was Collingwood Street!!! I think we can safely say this is Elizabeth's fathers death.
