Member Since: May 2011 Posts: 22 Send Message	I would like to find information on my great grandfather, all I know from my granddad who is also called by the same name is that he thinks his mum and dad died in the 1960s,they lived in London, but I don't know where about. My gt granddad was called albert George carpenter.My granddad had a step sister and a sister, one of them was called amy His mum's maiden name was davis and she was married twice, I think my gr grandmothers name was maude.I don't know where to begin this search without much information. I would really appreciate any help sally :-S

	You start by getting factual info about your grandfather. When and where was he born? Look for the registration on freebmd...................if he was born after 1911 his mother's maiden name will be on the index. That MAY enable you to find the marriage of his parents..............and you would then need to buy a copy of the cert to find out how old they were, and the names of their fathers

	Why have you 'marked as answered'? You asked for more info................ Look for Albert's birth on freebmd.....................don't guess - get facts. You really ought to buy a copy of his marriage cert................that would tell you his father's name (if he knew it)
