Hi Louisa Richards born 1880 Sedgley was married to Alfred simpson born 1880 Wolverhampton and on 1901 census she was living Coventry St Wolverhampton with their son Alfred aged 1. BUT 1911 census Alfred who was a fishmonger is living 57 Pond Lane Wolverhampton with a Frances Simpson listed as his wife and children Sarah E Simpson born 1894 Samuel E Simpson born 1896 Albert 1901 William born 1904 and Elizabeth 1906. I cannot find a death for Louisa or a marriage for Frances and Alfred. I did find a birth for a Samuel Elijah Evans 1896 in Wolverhampton though so wondering if Frances was married to a man if surname Evans before?? Can anyone help?? Cant find Louisa on 1911 census anywhere either!! |

More likely that he abandoned her, and she had to go to work to support herself |

In 1901 Alfred and Louisa only have one child, Alfred. So the two older ones in 1911 (Sarah and Samuel) may be from Frances's previous relationship. It also says (against Frances) married 18 years, 7 children born 6 living one had died. Maybe she is including the same 4 children that Louisa is claiming in 1911? |

I couldn't see a marriage for her to Samuel either but in 1911 he is still stating that he is married. |
