Thanks Beejay, sorry to keep you waitng but I was called away for the lunch break
The descendants family is now established as coming from Thomas and Harriet (starting in Bucklebury before moving to Crowmarsh) but thanks for the info on family with Hannah as mother as it establishes that there are two similar named families in fairly close proximity. I am continuously extending a GenoPro tree trying to make sure I only add the correct ones. Having several generations and full families on the screen all at the same time makes it much easier to follow.

Thanks Beejay, that Thomas Nailer is who Charles and Mary Ann, with the children Arthur and Charles, are living with in the 1871 and Thomas says he comes from Bucklebury! It seems like all yesterday's contributions on Nailers are the correct family. I think I need a strong coffee now to celebrate the outcome. The 1851 census for
Births Dec 1849 NAILER Mary Ann Wallingford 6 263
being somebody entirely different would seal it good and proper?

The Turner/Nailer families are still being a headache.....
I have the 1881 census from Family Search
1881 Census Household Gender Age Birthplace Head Charles Turner M 35 Witney, Oxfordshire, England Wife Mary A Turner F 30 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Son Arthur Turner M 11 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Daughter Ada Turner F 9 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Daughter Annie Turner F 7 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Daughter Alice C Turner F 6 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Son John Turner M 4 Crownarsh, Oxfordshire, England Daughter Katey Turner F 2 Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England Address: Benson Aka, Bensington (Oxon),
But I cannot see any sign of them in 1891. Mary Ann is saying she is from Crowmarsh rather than Bucklebury and I am hoping to determine which is correct.
At least I still have the 1869 marriage to fall back on - just need the certificate.
Marriages Jun 1869 TURNER Charles Wallingford 2c 491
Nailer Maryanne Wallingford 2c 491
Can anybody see the family 'hiding somehow' in 1891 please?
Many thanks Frances

From the Berkshire Christenings Database
Christenings at St Mary The Virgin Bucklebury, children of Thomas (labourer) & Harriet Nailor
10 March 1844 Amos 28 July 1850 Mary Ann 17 Oct 1852 Charlotte born 18 Feb 5 Nov 1855 Jane privately born 30 Oct
Burials at Bucklebury
8 Nov 1855 Jane 5 days 25 Feb 1879 Thomas age 71
This may or may not be your Thomas the father. I can't find any marriages for your Nailors on the Berkshire marriage database so will look in Wallingford for you. There may be more christenings either in Bucklebury or elsewhere which weren't apparent when looking on the disc so shall go back and have another look for you

Maddie I have looked for May Ann in Oxfordshire and Berkshire in FreeBMD and both counties give the same!
Births Dec 1849 NAILER Mary Ann Wallingford 6 263
and in the 1881 when she is married she gives Crowmarsh as her place of birth.
The plot thickens.....

1841 census shows rounded down ages for the over 15's, so Harriett could have been 25-29 years of age. Make her 29 and then 40 and 50 in 1851 and 1861 make sense.
Maddie appears to have removed her contribution. Looking at census and family search, there are several Nailer/Nailor's in the area - probably brothers/cousins who have named their children similarly

Thank you Stuart and Maddie, of course the 1841 dates make the family seem odd and Harriot a very young mother and Lucy's details in 1851 are a bit strange. Needs some more head scratching....
