Edit - The first five posts relate to my query regarding the relationship Sec C which has been answered but as my new problem relates to the same people I thought it better to continue with this thread.
I've never come across this before and don't know what it means, could someone please explain what it does mean:
1901 - From FMP
Henwood Lane, Tettenhall
RUDGE, Charles Head Single M 24 1877 Railway Porter Wolverhampton, Staffordshire GUY, Emily Cousin Married F 31 1870 Wolverhampton, Staffordshire GUY, Lily Sec C Single F 8 1893 Tettenhall Wood, Staffordshire GUY, Elsie Sec C Single F 7 1894 Tettenhall Wood, Staffordshire GUY, Florence Sec C Single F 1 1900 Tettenhall Wood, Staffordshire
I've checked the image and it does look like it has been transcribed correctly.

You might be right Jan.
I don't know if they are Emily's children as I was looking for Charles so haven't researched Emily. Thank you for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.

They do seem to be Emily's children going by the 1891 and 1911 census so I would agree that it probably means 2nd cousin (although they would actually be 1st cousins once removed).
This looks like Emily's marriage:-

I would say that Emily is a cousin of Charles Rudge, the children are hers so the enumerator has decided they must be 2nd. cousins to Charles but actually they would be 1st. cousins, once removed.

I'd love to know peoples thoughts on this Emily being the same one as in the 1901 census shown above
1911 10 Chambers St Crewton Derby
RUDGE, Charles Head Married M 36 1875 Labourer Wolverhampton Staffs RUDGE, Emily Wife Married 12 years F 37 1874 Wolverhampton Staffs 230 RUDGE, Gertrude Daughter F 11 1900 School Wolverhampton Staffs 230 RUDGE, Ernes Son M 8 1903 Derby Derbyshire 230 FELSTEAD, Sarah Boarder Widow F 68 1843 Charwoman Ashbourne Derbyshire 230 SHEPPARD, Tom Boarder Single M 23 1888 Tinsmith Upton Notts
I cannot find a marriage for Charles and Emily.
I can only see Henry Guy and wife Emily Guy together in the 1891 census.
Would really appreciate any thoughts
Edit - Forgot to say the daughter born in 1900 is Florence Gertrude but shown as Gertrude in 1911

Thank you Jan. Kath had already put the marriage on but the birth hadn't been put on.
I'm probably off the mark but I'm convinced that Emily Catherine Rudge left her husband Henry and settled with Charles.
Henry and Emily were together in the 1891 census, but for the 1901 he was with a brother and family and in 1911 he was with his son and daughter.
I cannot find a marriage for Charles and Emily and I have just found what I believe to be Henry's death in 1949.
I know that Emily who was with Charles was called Emily Catherine, her granddaughter was named after her.

Thanks for your help so far Jan. I have this from LDS site
Ernest William Rudge christening: 8 April 1903 Boulton, Boulton, Derbyshire, England father: Charles Frederick Rudge mother: Emily Catherine Rudge
This confirms that the marriage you found in 1897 isn't my Charles and Emily in 1911

I don't think the marriage I found is the Charles & Emily in your 1911 census, as it looks like that couple are there 1911 also. So - you might be right!! Jan

Thank you both for your input.
I now believe that this is the correct birth for my Florence
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page Births Jun 1900 (>99%) Guy Florence Gertrude Wolverhampton 6b 572
I have ordered her marriage certificate to see what she has put for her fathers details. I think I will also order Ernests birth certificate as I will then have mothers maiden name for when I order the Florence Gertrude Guy birth certificate.
Really appreciate your help.

Hi Chris Ho,
Thank you so much for that information. Searching the census for Emily in 1871 there were two, one was listed as Emily C. It was the right birth year and parents were as the baptism you found so I felt I had probably found my Emily.
I will have to order her marriage certificate to Henry Guy to confirm fathers name.
Regards
Chris
