This is what I've managed to put together so far.
Albert John de la Haye was born in the parish of St Peter on January 9th 1926. he died in July 2002 as per the Bolton death registration found previously. His parents were Albert John de la Haye and Marie Remonde Guénegou.
Albert Snr and Marie married in the parish of St Saviour on February 8th 1920. Albert was 24 and was born in St Saviour, his father was Francis Charles de la Haye, a road worker. Marie was 26 (a little economical with the truth here!) and was born in Le Vieux Bourg, Cotes du Nord, France. Her father was Denis Joseph Guénigou, a roofer.
The witnesses at the wedding were Francis C de la Haye and Delicia J de la Haye.
Albert Snr was born on January 26th 1896 in St Saviour and baptized on February 23rd. His parents were Francis Charles de la Haye and Delicia Jane Noel. If I remember rightly this family were found in the census returns. I looked up this baptism in the original register and if this Albert had been the abandoned baby it would have been mentioned. This date of birth fits pretty well with the other Albert death in Bolton in 1967.
Marie Remonde (Renée on her birth registration) Guénegou was born on November 15th 1892 in Le Vieux Bourg. Her parents were Denis Guénegou and Marie Francoise André. Denis was born in 1868 and Marie Francoise in 1864.
You can see the original birth registration document on http://sallevirtuelle.cotesdarmor.fr/EC/ecx/connexion.aspx it's image 327 Vieux Bourg 1870-1900
Delicia de la Haye lived in Jersey throughout the German occupation and there is a registration card at the Archive in her name, it has a small black and white photograph of her on it. She is living with her daughter Phyllis Maud Smith née de la Haye.
On my next trip to the Archive I'll see if Francis Charles de la Haye was the abandoned baby.

Thank you so much for this information. There was talk that one of the Albert's married a french woman, but we never knew her name (though french names in Jersey can't be too rare!) My family has been stuck for so long because of the same name over and over everything has become a jumbled mess.

I have found an Albert John de la Haye born 9/1/1926 in the parish of St Peter. His parents were Albert John and Marie (illegible but I would guess French).
I will look for a marriage between those 2 next week.

I think the first thing you need to have is the birth certificate/details of the 1926 Albert and to work backwards from there.
As you rightly day de la Haye is a common name in Jersey but I wouldn't think there were too many of them in the UK. I'm sure if he'd been born in the UK someone on here would have found him therefore I will check the birth indexes here in Jersey and see if I can find him.
After that I can have a go at finding the previous generation. If the first Albert was abandoned it will say so in the baptism register.

Alviegal, it is looking like your second death record was my great grandfather. Struggling to find birth record for either my granddad or this albert strongly suspected of being his father though. This has been frustrating me for months!

Sorry James. If the first death is your grandfather born 1926 died 2002, how could the other one be your uncle? He was 72 when he died in 1967 which makes a year of birth c1895.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting too, one of my other aunts told me that my great granddad never married an elizabeth, but I'm not sure I can trust her facts, she knows more about my grandmothers side.

Tenerife Sun, I have no idea who chose the name, I was told, and the Jersey records site says the same thing, that when a baby is found abandoned, sometimes they give the christian name of the person who found them / looked after them and they get a surname relating to the place they were found. Alternatively they are given a name that is super common in the area. According to my dad, Albert John Delahaye was like John Smith then. Just a generic, common name.
Mel Fairy Godmother, that looks promising I'll do some digging thank you so much for the search!

Alviegal, thank you for the look-up, however that Albert John Delahaye is not mine. I found that early in my search and it has since been discounted. The problem is Delahaye was a super common name and Albert John was no better. In saying that, I will definitely work on verifying again that this is not who I am looking for as this Albert has a son named after him and that has been common in my family, my grandfather was Albert John, and my aunt told me that since the man found on the church steps the family have always named a son Albert John. Worth triple checking.
All I have that is certain is my Grandfather was born in 1926, and even then, we don't know if he was born here or in Jersey. The family at some point moved to Bolton, where my grandfather married my grandmother and had his children, though we have no idea when.
I now can't find the census I found of the 15 year old farm hand, which is frustrating as I know I saw it somewhere. I really know nothing else about it as my father doesn't really talk about his history and both his parents are dead now. Thank you all for your help!
