I found George S Thomson on the 1911 census, he is living at Gala Cottage with his father George, mother Maggie and sister Elizabeth |

He's also in Larkhall with his parents and sister Elizabeth in 1911, working as an ironmonger's shop assistant. |

It was father George travelling between US and Canada. When he emigrated he was with wife and daughter, both called Margaret. Wife may have died between 1940 & 1947 crossings as he doesn't name her on the 1947 entry. |

The George who arrived in Canada in 1925 was aged 54 with wife Margaret, 50 and 8 year old daughter Margaret. They're going to join son-in-law Rob;t Poat/Peat, 30a ashdale Ave., Toronto. They give name of relative at home as brother Alex Thomson, Charing Cross, Larkhall. |

The military record I posted - the address is Gala Cottage, but I think it may be a different George as after looking through his record he appears to survive the war. Just ploughing through to see if he named any nok. |

I found this on the war graves Photographs project, apparently his mother and father resided in Toronto, I can't find an emigration for them before 1925. |

John, I think the death of George Smail Thomson is not him - if you have found that his parents George & Margaret were living in Toronto. The image for your George & Margaret into Canada in 1925 states they have not lived in Canada before. |

1911 he was still at Gala Cottage, unless the inscription was done after they had moved to Canada, just a thought tho |
