I’m hoping some kind souls out there can help me find a record of my Great Grandmother’s death. Her name was Ellen Dobson nee Waters. Ellen married John William Dobson in March 1878, when she claimed to be 22 years old, making her birth year 1855-56. The Dobson family lived in the Kirkdale and Edge Hill areas of Liverpool. I cannot find a record which matches that age. Has anyone out there got access to other that FreeBMD, because I think these two records are most likely to be her. Her death may have been registered by John William her husband, or any of her children William, Arthur, Ellen, Herbert, Minnie, Samuel or Robert. Her husband John William was living in Wynne Street, Edge Hill (Wavertree) when he died in 1925 |

Economical with the truth about her age. She named her father George a ships joiner when she married, think this is her in 1871: |

As she was claiming to be even younger on the 1911 census, I would think the 1923 death to be more likely. |

There is no sign of probate or a burial for the 1923 death on ancestry, so think the only way to know would be order the death certificate, or if you are local check out the records office for burial indexes |

The lack of on line burial info is nothing to do with the deceased person...............it just means that it hasn't yet been transcribed by the volunteers who undertake the task of putting it on line. Assuming, of course, that she was buried. |
