My friend's granddad is Robert Postlethwaite Eccles - so you must be related xtootsy16x

Sorry Reggie was the burial you noted 20 Dec 1818 was that for daughter Anne or son James aged 1, if it was James then does that mean they had another son James in 1825?...I know I must sound thick but I fed up with the name JAMES lol maybe you do as well ..certainly patience is needed on this !!!! :-D

OMG you 2 are brilliant I, did get confused with the surname ACKLES, I am so very happy,, Postlethwaite does seem strange as the witness to the marriage. Another strange thing is that there is a George GIBSON on the census...that is the other side of my family that I need to find out---- My mothers maiden name!!!! Many thanks once again x

I can't see either of them in 1851............failing miserably with this one!

And no baptism for Isabella on familysearch..............all very frustrating

No, I can't find one either - and the only child registered on cumbriabmd is John, 1858 - giving mmn Hewartson, so maybe Elizabeth was not previously married when Isabella was born.

Only youngest sons John & William was born in Barrow - as in later census James was born Kirkby (Ireleth) which is a village just up the coast from Barrow

I know that Florence was married to John Eccles, she was my great-aunt, they had 3 boys:- Thomas, Robert and John ,but the rest of the family dosent know anything about their Eccles ancestors due to a rift in the family many years ago ,so I thought I would ask on her as you are all so fantastic at finding thing s out.. They were all born in Barrow. Many thanks for helping me, now I can try to find some things out on here myself, just needed a helping hand from all of you out there :-)
