Hey thanks for that Christina - it is quite hard doing this long distance, I'm in New Zealand, and so every little bit of help I get is most appreciated :-) |

You know, I didn't even notice that. Bit early in the morning. |

If that was the reading of the banns, then presumably the actual event took place a week or two later? - do you know if there was any sort of pattern for how long between the banns and the wedding generally? |

Wow! Christina, you're great, thank you for that - amazing what shows up when you go away and do a few hours honest work! :-) |

No it doesn't, but that wasn't that unusual....I have a fair number of twins in my tree, sadly most died as babies but I do have one set born 1832 that survived to adulthood so they could be twins....you just need to find baptisms for them |

Thanks Jax, I was aware of that, it's just that if this is the family, then George born 1818, two brothers around 1820 and then another in 1821 - doesn't leave much time between them does it? ;) |

In the 1841 census the enumerators were told to round the ages down for any one over the age of 15 |

I did come across a tree which named the father as Richard, and which had a William and a Daniel born 1820 - I wondered if they could have been twins? I wasn't sure about the father's name, but maybe it could be a candidate, I just looked at my notes from that tree and it showed Alice born Chipping Warden too |

Unfortunately I am not a member of Ancestry.com as I can't afford it, although I do have a tree on Mundia, but can't find much to confirm the details I am seeking, hence my request for help on GR,through the good graces of people like yourself. |

Thanks for that, it's a different birth than I had found - Family Search also show a Sarah, b.1809, George, b.1818, and William b.1821 - does that fit with the 1841 census record you mentioned? |

That would fit if she was born in Northamptonshire, does it show the rest of the family? |

Looking at the 1841 census it shows Alice as not born in county |

I got the christening record on Family Search, and it shows father as William Perkins, and mother just as Alice - the death cert gave Amos as her surname, but not father's first name |

Oops, crossed posts there - thanks for that Glitterbaby, I wonder what the charge was? |

Cheers, not so concerned about that one, as about the Amos connection, as it has been a dead-end for some time, but having confirmed George's mother's maiden name, I'd like to pursue that |
