Reggie as you can see from the info you have found above , another mystery is Aaron Hampson younger brother of Richard, the last sighting of him is the 1881 census with his wife Elizabeth Been unable to find him on immigration, thought perhaps he may have gone to Ireland, but he may be difficult to find ,wasn't,t records destroyed by fire over there? |

Re. Richard Hampson, the only census I can,t find him on is the 1871 census .The only evidence I may have of him being abroad is a photo of him in an outfit that looks similar to a rancher,he had rounds of bullets strapped across his chest and holding a rifle. I realise that the Riichard Hampson was living with a William and Ann Hampson in Canada and wondered if William was his brother but then I found that my Richards brother William was still living with his parents in 1871 but Richard was not listed on the census. He was not married untii 1882 at the age of 34.Anyway I certainly couldn't,t find Richard Hampson born 1848 in the 1871 census |

Thanks Shirley for the look ups. certainly a mystery with my Hampson family'. An imposter travelling on my Grandfathers passport, Unsure where my Great Grandfather was in 1871 presume in Canada and his brother Aaron Hampson and his wife Ann was on the. 1881 census then nothing after that, no sign of them on any passenger list. The daughter of Mary Teresa Moore taken in to live with my Hampson family when her mother was put into an Institution after the birth of another child out of wedlock. Unsure exactly of Mary Teresa Moore was to my family but my cousin gave me a photo of her so there must be some connection. Looks so easy for the people of Who do you think you are to find their relatives obviously the BBC pay for searches. Without you kind people on Genes helping out it would be more difficult |

Thanks so much Reggie for finding the info for me.Is it possible to look up on the 1871 census of Richard Hampson in Ontario living with a William and Ann Hampson to find out if it states where William and Ann were born and if they were man and wife.I know Richard had a brother William and he was living in the family home in Sheffield in 1871, so not quite sure this Richard is my great grandfather until I know the connection with the other 2 Richard returned to England, he married in 1881 and Lemuel William was his son |

Actually although I am under the name of John on this site, he is my husband and my maiden name is Hampson. Arthur Lemuel Hampon was my father and he had no brothers so whoever went to Canada on my grandfathers Lemuel William Hampsons passport must have known my family. Hence why I am trying to find Mrs L Hundle living in Toronto who this person states is his sister as I stated in an earlier post. regards Bella Hampson she originated from Bolton and was going to stay with her sister and husband who also travelled on the same ship. Her brother in law being in shipping. I don,t know this Bella as being in my family so I think it's just a coincident she was on the same ship |
