Thank you, Kath. You are quite right about the relative rarity of divorces in the early 1900s. I know that my couple divorced. My problem was to establish exactly when the event occurred. I have now discovered the date via the National Archives. |

Are you certain that the couple actually divorced? In those days divorce was largely for those who were well off as it was difficult and expensive to get a divorce and most couples would just separate and go on to live with another partner or to marry again bigamously. |
