Hi thanks for that BrummieJan, it was baffling me trying to find them.
I think I can now rule out this William Henry Jones, seeing as his surname became Clark.
thank you everyone for your help. Back to the drawing board.

If the 1871 above is Ellen, she was born in Pembrokeshire - so this might be her - she is a widow (lots of other names on here!)
1861 England Census Name: Ellen E Jones Age: 28 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1833 Relation: Cook Gender: Female Where born: S Wales, Pembrokeshire, Wales Civil Parish: St Mary Aldermanbury County/Island: Middlesex
Registration District: London City Sub-registration District: London City North West

Perhaps I should post full details of the William Henry Jones I am looking for (trying to help another family member) to see if anyone can help.
According to his age at marriage and age at death, he should be born about 1856
His marriage to Hannah Harriet Eastoll in 1881 Wayland, Norfolk, shows his father as Henry Jones a labourer. The witnesses to the marriage are from Hannah's family, so no clue to his family there.
He has various ages though in the census from 1871 up to his death. All show him as born in London, only one shows him born in Holborn.
In 1871 he is shown as a boarder with this family, and is a scholar. .
Civil Parish: Great Ellingham Town: Great Ellingham County/Island: Norfolk Country: England Registration District: Wayland Sub-registration District: Attleborough ED, institution, or vessel: 6 Household Schedule Number: 75 Piece: 1841 Folio: 93 Page Number: 13
Jonatshan Houchen Head 44 Hannah Houchen wife 43 William Roberson boarder 73 William Jones boarder 13
I have been looking at various Willam Henry Jones trying to pinpoint his parents, my relative has been stuck on this side of their tree for quite a long time.
So far I think I have ruled out William Henry Jones who is in the 1861 born Holborn with mother Sarah (a widow). The father is William and a sailor (I found her marriage), so this doesnt tie in with our William Henry Jones.
The second William Henry, was the one above in the start of this thread to Ellen Jenkins and Henry Frederick Jones and of course this one looks to be ruled out too.
I haven't been able to pinpoint the Willam Henry Jones I am looking for in 1861, nor can I find a definate birth/baptism for him. My relative has ordered various birth certs which have all ended up not being him. (I will confirm which ones were ordered)
Any help appreciated in finely cracking this one. I figure some fresh pair of eyes may help.
I will change the title to this thread so that it is clear who this thread is searching for. I didn't want to create a duplicate thread, so thought I would add the full details here.
Thanks in advance.

CelticShiv, have you tried seeing who William 'Roberson' is? His birthplace is also London, and he might offer a clue, who knows. Jan

The age does vary a lot though doesn't it! This must be the same William as 1871 presumably?
EDIT he is actually 22 on image.

We think alike, I was trying to look into the William Roberson, in case he is related, but I can't find him in any earlier census or tie him into a Jones family.
I have been looking at this family now::
Name: William Jones Age: 3 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1858 Relation: Son Father's Name: Henry Jones Mother's Name: Elizabeth Jones Gender: Male Where born: Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England Civil Parish: Clerkenwell St James Ecclesiastical parish: Pentonville St James Town: London County/Island: Middlesex Country: England Registration District: Clerkenwell Sub-registration District: Pentonville ED, institution, or vessel: 3! Household Schedule Number: 81 Piece: 195 Folio: 69 Page Number: 14
Henry Jones 56 Elizabeth Jones 41 Frederick Jones 13 Rosa Jones 11 Arthur Jones 6 William Jones 3
But it looks like that William was born without Henry as a middle name. Howeverit does look like the parents Henry and Elizabeth are deceased by 1871, which would coincide with our William in the 1871 census, so could he of just taken on the Henry as a middle name.
As our William only gives Holborn once as place of birth and London the rest of the time, it is hard to be sure it is definitely the Holborn area he was born.
It seems odd that he is on his own in Great Ellingham in 1871 at just aged 13, I could understand if maybe he was in a workhouse there or working, but it's states scholar so looks like he is being supported by someone. He is with the same houchen family in 1881, so are they related to him, or did they take him on as an Orphan maybe?

okay, something interesting
I found Jonathan and Hannah Houchin in the 1861 census, with them is a 7 year old boarder Emma Pitts who was born in London.
Hannahs maiden name is Pitts, looks like they married in 1851.
So could William Henry Jones be related to this family maybe, especially as we have part of the Houchin family from London.

even more interesting now, it looks like the Pitts family are connected to Holborn.
William Henry Jones gave his place of birth as holborn in one of the census. I am starting to thing he may be related to the Houchins. Now if I can just work out how, I may find his parents.
