Hi all, looking for help in trying to locate Delphine Lee on the 1881 census. Her maiden name was Voilet or Voilett she married Henry Thomas or Thomas Henry Lee and I have her on the 1871 england census in Liverpool with her husband and three children, Loiusa, Jane and Charles. I can pick her up again on the 1891 census where she has remarried to a Robert Scott and has Charles living with her. However I cannot find her in 1881 or any trace of the girls. I believe that Henry died in 1880 and I think I have Charles is at the bluecoat school in Liverpool in 1881, but no sign of Delphine. She was born Geneva, Switzerland in around 1848, she came to the uk as a ladies maid. Also any information on how to trace relatives on the Swiss side, seems very complicated with this Canton system. thanks :-) |

https://familysearch.org have a number of collections from Switzerland although not all are indexed. This would mean that you'd have to look at each image in turn. |

Yes i'm thinking she went back to Switzerland as well. Thats great about the death details of Henry Lee with probate to Delphine, up to now I was speculating that this was him. Are causes of death held anywhere except on the actual death certificates? |

They aren't described as son or daughter on the 1871 census but it certainly looks like Louisa on the actual census page .Plus they aren't calling Charles by any other name. So it would seem Louisa is correct |

I agree with Shirley, but can't see a birth for either Louis or Louisa - the only birth I can see which may tie up is the Henry Louis, reg Prescot Q1/1867. Shame they only appear to have had Charles christened, but not the others. |

Hi thought it was a long shot . Delphine certainly seemed to have lived an interesting life, don't suppose anyone can find her on the 1911 census as well. Again she appears to have disappeared. Her death is registered in Liverpool but I was told she was buried in Coed Poeth where her and Robert ran the Cross Keys or something similar pub. |

I wouldn't totally discount Henry Louis Lee, I recently helped someone by checking parish records and found Daisy x on the bmd index was actually Derek x on the christening record. The Lancashirebmd site has his birth registered in the sub district of Much Woolton, but unfortunatly did not record mmn. |
