What could be the reason when someone has birth record, and then nothing. No marriage record, no death record! I have even checked passport applications and passenger lists. Nothing |

Very often it's a case of the father dying, mother remarrying and the child taking the stepfather's name. |

Thank you for replies, but this is not the case. No parental death and no adoption, no family break-up. There 2 people are from the same family that just seem to have disappeared. They are both no 1911 census and then nothing. Eliza 2nd oldest and Sarah the 4th of 8 children. I have found the other 6. Family name Tarpey, from Manchester. Are there any other records that I could check? |

Hi Choccy , thank you for your help. Eliza mentioned above cannot be the same person, as my Eliza was 5 years old on the census. |

Although Eliza is down as '5' on the census, she is the last child listed, after the 2 year old. |

Think 1911 census should say 5 months, so death looks very like her. This looks like her birth. |

Yes PatinCyprus I think it is, I did think it strange to have 2 children of almost the same age, i.e one at 5 1/2 and one at 5. I didn't think about it being 5 months. |
