i have just done a basic search and it looks like Walters wife Mary Matilda Humphrey died 1948 ,

please can someone look for her probate and will?

Where did you find your death in 1948? The only one I can find is in Wakefield. Mary Matilda Humphrey of Highlands, 445 Aberford Road, Wakefield. Widow died23/02/1948. Probate Wakefield to Yorkshire Penny Bank Ltd. £8099.12s. 3d

i just did a basic search in ancestry and came up with that one that fits her name,now i realise her age is wrong,

Mary Matilda Pollington was born 1875, in Walters will he leaves it to someone not his wife so i wonder if his wife died before him.

There is a possible in 1932, on a website someone thinks it might be misstranscribed as mary J humphrey in 1948.

Walters probate, which was five years after hid death, doesn't say he was a widow. But it doesn't always give that info. I did notice that his probate is to George Humprey who is a Gardner as opposed to George Humphrey Gardner.

I wonder if this is Mary's death, the age fits and Mary came from Ticehurst. It is near Wadhurst. I used to live in Marks Cross where one or more of her children was born

There isn't a probate for her.
