Possibly unrelated but a missing person artiicle in the New South Wales Aus. Police Gazette 10 March 1920 relating to a Charles Clay of Strachen Tasmania, who on 14 Feb 1894 left this wife Mary Clay of Bridge Road Glebe. Born about 1850

He was last heard of in 1910 when he was working as a coal miner in the Newcastle area

He'd left his wife in 1894 in Tasmania. He'd last been heard of 10 years previously (so 1910 ish) when he'd been a coal miner in the Newcastle district.

His wife was Mary Clay of 221 Bridge Road, Glebe.

I wonder if Charles William left them and went to Tasmania

I note the two census she is on only refer to her as Rose, only 1 census shows a birthplace which may have been assumed as the same as her husband's.
