Julie Report 4 May 2013 16:49

Hi there, I am looking for my great grandfather, Percy Stone.
I know from family history that he was born in Wandsworth, London in 1888.
His marriage certificate, and 1911 census records also show that by then, he was living in Weymouth, with my great grandmother. They married in 1912.

His father was called James Stone.

Heres my problem. I can't find any birth records for a Percy Stone in 1888. He didn't move, the other Percy Stones born in other areas are not him! I've even checked military births........nothing!!

Any advice please?

Julie

Back to the drawing board!

Perhaps he was older than that given in 1911 census? It stated that he was 7yrs older than his bride to be perhaps he was older than that!

Do you know when and where Percy died?

Not finding any Army Records for him. Was he still in the Army when he married as the 1911 shows him in the Army as a Bandsman?

BMD's show children born to Stone/Clothier, but rather spread out
1914 - Weymouth Isabel S
1918 - Weymouth Margaret V
1922 - Tavistock, Devon Audrey M
but plenty of other forces births without mmn showing.

Thanks peeps!!

I can't find any census results until 1911 for him4

Right, his full name was Percy Edwin Stone
I do not know when he died, or where.
He married Lilan B. Clothier in Weymouth, in 1912.
He had two children (there MAY be others) Margaret V Stone, 1918, and Isoella S Stone in 1914.
The marriage certificate says they were married on 3rd August,1912 in Weymouth
His father was called James Stone, deceased at the time.
The witnessess were R. Clothier, and E. Clothier (brides mother and ???)

Yes, that is Lilians death in 1931

This help is very much appriciated.
