we have all the later details of William George and his marriage certificate etc Plus a newspaper picture as Police Constable Stow I have been looking into the scenario of a child of another family members but they were a large family in Lincolnshire so without knowing all the babies born on 27th Feb 1890 in Messingham this may prove difficult. I would like to find out who the Parents were of the William George buried on 4th Feb and wonder if local parish can help further with this as i have found no death registration in GRO for this or a birth. Think i will look at some local newspapers for that period you never know what might be in them, worth a try |

for ref purpose William Charles Stow was born on 10th April 1890 to William John Stow and Margaret Marshall and appears in 1891 census as Charles age 11 months so this cant be my William George |

we have other evidence that confirms his year of birth as 1890. His older siblings were born 1886-1888 i have contacted the local registration but they were unable to find anything i have spoken to the Messingham local history society at the WDYTUR a couple of weeks ago and thery have been trying to solve this with me for the last few years they suggested this time to look at where his Father was working and was that the reason he left Dalton Lancashire for a brief period to work in Messingham I believe there was work on going on a new railway link during this period and that was another suggestion i was given to see where he was working. he was living back in Dalton by the time the 1891 census ws taken The missing years are 1888-1890 thank you to everyone still trying to help i have copies of all of the certificates suggested by you all and they do not contain any details to move this in another direction thanks again Pam |

Could this birth be a possibility. I know you have the year of birth as 1890 but the police records could be wrong. My father's army records have the right day and month of birth but the year is out as he lied about his age and so could your man have done:- |

Have you asked at the local register office --ie Caister.as although its not in the inxexes it may have been overlooked when the index ledgers from Somerset House were transcribed on to fiche. |

There is definately no Birth Certificate but i have exact date of birth as the person was in Police Force and it is on his records Even the experts at WDYTYA have been unable to find birth certificate Some of my older threads give the full details of this person William George Stowe but I thought I would take a fresh look at it coming from another angle, like medical records of where baby was born and where theFather was working I would love to solve this mystery They had many children from 1896 onwards and they all have a birth certifucate except William George and he was the only child born in Lincolnshire all the other children were born in Dalton Lancashire However, William George's Father came from Lincolnshire as did the other ancestors and I have all of those details I felt they must have left Dalton Lancahire sometime between 1888 after the 2nd child was born maybe for employment as they are back in Dalton in 1891 so the missing period is 1888-1890 With 2 young children and pregnant with 3rd where were they? Thanks for trying to help Pam |

I agree with Jan. You are unlikely to find records that will give you an address in 1890 unless you find the birth certificate. |
