My Father was Christopher Daly baptised in Clara in 1914. His parents were Thomas Daly born c1874 and Mary Rickard C1875. From Clara Parish church i received information that they married 4July1896 and that Thomas daly's parents were Patrick Daly and Mary? and Mary Rickards parents were Thomas Rickard and Catherine ? I would like to try and find Mary and Catherine's maiden names. |

As far as I am aware Catholic records are kept at the churches of origin and not published online have you established where the families were living ? |

I know this isn't what you are asking for, but this looks to be the couple in 1901, so here it is anyway:- |

And also in 1911 although there seems to be a problem with Thomas' age? |

This looks to be Mary's parents:- |

Wow thats a lot of info. Is there anywhere they would mention Catherine's parents or her maiden name? In the 1901 does it mention children they had and how many are alive? |

It census says in1901 it lists 9 children at house 11 Fredrick st yet in 1911 it say they only have 5 children all living and this was 12 Fredrick st. Why would this be so. |

Morning Bill...I wouldn't get hung up on dates at the moment they can vary a whole lot especially when being transcribed...Thomas had aged over night given he was 88 on 1911 census..original shows 38 |

Bill ...I am beginning to wonder if Thomas Rickard snr. may have been married twice...once to a Mary Murray (Co Westmeath) then to a Catherine (Co Offaly)...there is a marriage of a Thomas Rickard to a Mary Murray and some births Co Westmeath .. eg Laurence....(another one in Tullamore Goal 1900 residence given as Clara). Could also account for them listing only 5 children in 1911...but anythings possible at the moment..!! |

I suggested that Bill would probably reach a wider audience if he posted on this site... I for one rarely look at that board. |

Hi Again. Thanks again for all you are doing. It takes avery nice personto spend the time on someone you don't know and i appreciate it.That Laurence Rickard seems to be around the same vintage as Mary Rickard's 1875.I don't really know what to do from here to confirm any of this. |
