I have a John Moorcroft married a Hannah ? within 5 years of 1821 (Ann Moorcroft first born child baptised 01/07/1821 Redbourn, Hertfordshire), last child to this marriage Thomas Moorcroft 1829 (baptised 11/01/1829 Rebourn). By 1830 he is having his first child with another woman Caroline? this child was baptised 04/07/1830 Redbourn, Eliza Moorcroft. Am most interested in whether he actually married Caroline and if so where. If you could help would be really grateful |

How are you going to prove the births are all to the same man |

You might get a birth cert for one of the children, as this will show Caroline's maiden name: |

Yes will get birth certificate to confirm, but that marriage is looking perfect -but London I would never of found it thinking it was in Hertfordshire |

This family has been difficult to follow, as they do seem to change the spelling of surname from one cenus to the next. |

I was proving the births are all to the same man as the older children by first marriage are living with the younger children by the second marriage in cenus. But on baptisms of the children, Mother names different |

Nothing would surprise me Misty, may be Sarah is not the Mother to the children I dont have the childrens baptisms to confirm Mother and children pre1837 so can not order birth certificate to confirm, only details from the cenus, and Sarah was born in Surrey so marriage in Surrey would connect -has thrown all I have in the air, but thats fine will go back to the drawing board |

Martha and William Gilbert married on the same day as Martha's sister, Louisa, they were witness for each other along with Thomas Clarke for both |
