I thought I should just put this on here as the connection is George John Tucker (1867 to c 1929). George married Harriett in 1890 - I am now looking for her death. From a few other trees I have seen her death year noted as 1955, so it must be this one:
Deaths Mar 1955 (>99%) TUCKER Harriett 86 Surrey N. 5g 497
But as far as I can see it could also be this one:
Deaths Dec 1933 (>99%) Tucker Harriet 65 Fulham 1a 388
I am initially inclined towards 1955 and wonder whether Harriett Tucker is visible on the ERs in the early 1950's please and if she is with anybody? I am struggling to work out why she might be in Surrey N (if it is her!) - unless it was with one of her children (or in the vicinity) but their deaths do not appear to occur in the same place - which isn't an indicator of course, as they could have moved after her death!
Sorry rambling, speculating - so if anyone could check on ERs I would be grateful
Thank you J-A

I started this post for George 1823 & George John 1868 (father and son) and on 3rd Jan 2013 MelFG kindly posted details from someone’s tree on another site for George 1823 marrying Emma Taylor in September 1855.
I have now found (during a free trip to the Library) a John Tucker, marrying an Emma Turner in April 1857 – the details seem to match up with other the Tucker father details (George EDIT before 1823 possibly 1801) and one witness is also George Tucker (possibly George John 1868) his brother? EDIT - No that is his nephew - so George 1823 his brother
So does anyone agree/disagree that this John Tucker could be John Tucker 1831 (1841 Census at Bermuda Street, Stepney) – tried comparing signatures but would appreciate some fresh eyes on it please? Also the residence at time of marriage is North Street – George and Emma live at North Street on the 1861 Census.
Thank you
J-A
EDIT - sorry got confused with the string of Georges so amended the dates!!!

Mel
Thank you for the link to the 1868 map and infor re roundings - they always make it more confusing, but I think that what has been posted gives me most of the facts (except the reason for the musical carpenter/joiner bit!)
Thanks for your help

Jannie I forgot to say they rounded the ages down on the 1841 census so you can't really go by the ages on that one. I have three children all of 5 years old in one census for 1841 and they are all about 18 months to two years apart on the actual births.

This is a map of London which you may find useful as it is an old one online and free.
http://london1868.com/weller47.htm
4 squares down and second from the end is Stepney and there is a North St on that.

Now I am so confused by this lot, and I thought they were sorted.
On the 1841 there is only 5 years between George and Elizabeth, with a son born in 1826 plus Eliza (twin) Alfred, John, Sarah and Edwin. On teh 1851 you posted George, John and Sarah are there - maybe Eliza, Alfred and Edwin were married or dead!
Then 1861 at North Street - George (son) and Emma with a baby Amy but by 1871 George with Emma, no Amy and Son George (1868), still at North Street but then in 1871 still George, Emma and George at 34 Lindley Street.
I am beginning to think that there were a lot of births and almost as many child deaths - and George 1821/1823 was from time to time a musician. I can't see any other records for another family that ties in as closely................

I have to go out now but will look in when I get back. Have to go shopping for the first time since before Christmas. :-( :-( :-(
I suppose if you are a musician and a joiner you should always be able to find some kind of work!! The only thing I can say is that the address was the same on most or all of the baptisms so it must have been the same couple.

Mmmm, interesting as I have George (1826, so likely 1823) in 1841 aged 15, as a carpenter - with parents George and Elizabeth, which ties to the 1851 (except he is a musician!) and 1861 he is back to being a Ship Joiner, then 1871 a Musician (again), 1881 a Gas Fitter. All very intriguing - I suppose it depends exactly what sort of musician.
EDIT: Just seen your last post - looks like more than one family now but a lot of the details agree

Jannie I am not sure that this tree on Ancestry is right.
There is a baptism of a Flora Elizabeth Tucker with parents George and Emma but the father occupation is again Ship Joiner. Flora is supposed to be a sister to George John.
These are the children this person has as connected to George Tucker and Emma.

MelFG - thank you - that is very interesting - especially the 'Professor of Music' bit.
EDIT:
I was just checking my files and wondering why I didn't have anything for the 1851 - and no matter how I try I cannot seem to find them on FMP, so really appreciate the 1851 posting.
