Find Ancestors

This lady is giving me quite a headache! I have marriage and death certificates for this person, but as to date cannot locate her birth certificate.

Not sure where she was born.1911 Census says Darlington,Other census say Sheffield. Have tried the relevent Records Office, but have drawn a blank :-(

Any help will be gratefully received .....Thank You

Hi Rambling Rose...........Yes the above info is correct. Before her mother married Thomas Butler, she was married to Thomas Johnson. they were married in Sheffield.......It may help it may not

Yes that is correct. My Gr Grandmother whom I am looking for married James Abel in Darlington in 1897. Her father Thomas was deceased at the time of the marriage

No births for Mary Ann in Sheffield 1872-1874, so it looks more likely that the Darlington birth is possible?

there does not appear to be another Mary ann Butler to match the birth in 1874 on the 1881 census

Have contacted the Darlington Register office more than once, and they still tell me they do not have a copy of her Birth Certificate!!

Will have to put my thinking cap on again

Have tried 10A....18. That is not the one I am looking for.

Thomas was according to the 1881 born Staffordshire...on this 1891 it suggests Mary Ann was also? Perhaps while visiting his parents?? worth a look

The 1891 def says Staffordshire, but the actual place name is very indistinct.

Had another look at that it certainly isn't 'Shifford' I think it could be Walsall, in which case maybe look at this one?
