I'm trying to find information about Rose Ellen Garnham. She married Frederick William Taylor before 1928 and was living in Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1929. They had a daughter Ivy Poppy Muriel b 1929 and possibly another daughter, Sally. Her husband was born 1910 in Rougham, Suffolk, I believe so I assume she had a similar year of birth. Thank you.

The marriage should be on FreeBMD and the cert will give her age and her dads name ,if known.

Thanks. I've looked there but can't find a suitable marriage or birth for her. I have her maiden name and husband's name from their daughter's birth certificate.

This may be her, thanks. There is an 11 year age difference between her and Fredk Wm which is a little unusual, perhaps, when the woman is older. I can't find a marriage and daughter's birth cert says Rose Ellen formerly Garnham. Do you have to produce a marriage certificate to confirm details when registering a birth?

Yes Dec 1929 is correct. Thanks. They may well have had more than 2 children, a former neighbour, now very elderly, could only remember 2.

Further thoughts... We did originally believe that Fredk's father Wm Frederick Taylor b. Ipswich 1876 and his wife Ellen (Overett) were the parents but when the birth cert arrived with the name Garnham on it we came to the conclusion that their son Fredk Wm was the father. Could this be a second marriage for Fredk's father?

I would get Ivy's Birth Certificate, if you don't already have it, and see what is on it.

We know for certain that Ivy was related in some way to the Overetts via the elderly neighbour who remembers them.

I sent for marriage certificate of Rose Garnham & Wm Fredk Taylor 1898, Ipswich. They are bachelor & spinster both aged 22 (b.1876). That would make Rose about 53 when she gave birth to Ivy - unlikely I feel.

So to recap I'm looking for the parents of Ivy Poppy Muriel Taylor b 1929 in Woodbridge, Suffolk. They are given on her birth cert as Rose Ellen Taylor formerly Garnham and Wm Frederick Taylor, Occ. House Painter. 14 Station Rd, Woodbridge.
