I'm not sure if Smethwick is included within Birmingham, but please could you check to see if there is a William and Jane GORING around in about 1912. The last address I have is from the birth of their son William Eric in 1907 which was 13 Union Street, Smethwick.

I don't think ER covered Smethwick in 1912 but happily they moved and turn up 1920-45. I think (not 100%) Downing Street is in Handsworth not far from where my grandparents lived!!

1920 Thomas Goring living at 58 Downing Street (rings a bell lol) Sandwell ward
1930,35 & 39 Thomas & Margaret Goring lived at 206 Conybere Street, St. Martins & Deritend Ward. There is a Jean Goring with them in 1935.

Also came across an Oliver Goring Frederick Thomas - is he one of yours? living at 20 Church view, Walford Road, Sparkbrook 1925-39, also a William James Goring living at 8 Downing Street in 1925 & 30.

Could you do me a look up for Kate or Katherine Clayton and also George John Baker possibly with his wife Ehel Elizabeth Baker nee Clayton possibly in Aston.

I have found George John and Ethel Elizabeth living at 6 Court 3 Great Francis Street, Duddeston & Nechells ward (Aston area) from 1925 - 1945. George is down as George H in 1945.

There is a Katherine Bridget Clayton living at 16 Hagley Road, Edgbaston ward 1930,35 & 39.

In 1930 she is With a John Hazlewood Clayton, Laurence Gerard Clayton, Ann Catherine Clayton, & Amelia Bastard.

In 1935 she is with John Hazlewood Clayton, Amelia Bastard and Margaret Morris.

In 1939 is with John H Clayton, Frank Gollins, Laurence Willoughby Wilson, Amelia Blanche Casey, Ethel Astins.

Two possible Kate Claytons:
1920,25,30 & 35 - 89 Barford Road, Rotton Park
In 1930 living with arthur and Phyllis Smith
in 1935 living with Horace Peck
or
1925 & 30 5 Park Place, Elkington Street, St. Mary's
Is living with Walter William Clayton
