Hi Denise - thanks for your info. I have had considerable problems with Surname variations in my research! I am led to believe that people in the Armed Forces and other Institutions(Hospitals- Prisons etc) are included in the Census but i do not know how to access this info? - any help anyone?- regards Tom |

Hi Dee, i have the Marriage Cert. it states that he is a General Labourer at time of Marriage(1915) What happened to him between 1891 and 1915 is becoming a mystery! Maybe a chink of light into this mystery is that on my Father & Mothers Marriage Cert(1940) it states that his Father(Wlliam) was a C.S.M. in the India Army(deceased) - he(William) died in 1936. Also whilst talking to my Aunt she mentioned that her Father(William) was in the Army. I wouldn't hold much store on My Father's info as he states that he is 21 on Marr. Cert. but in fact was only 18 yrs 5 months!! (bit of a Porky!). Sorry I have not got access to the 1901 Census at the moment - regards Tom |
