I don't understand, Claire. You say you need the maiden name of May Turnbull but you say she had a brother Albert Turnbull and a sister Harriet Turnbull. So surely May's maiden name was Turnbull?

Free BMD has the birth of May Turnbull Sep. quarter 1908, Blackburn which covers Darwen. (8e 467)

You really should buy the birth certificate. It will give you mother's maiden name.

Order it from General Register Office using volume and page numbers (The numbers in brackets) and never pay more than 7 pounds.

From FreeBMD:
Mary Clarkson married Albert Turnbull, March quarter 1906, Preston. (8e 915)

Fancy buying another certificate? It will give you father's names.

Been a long time since I have been on here and everything has all changed. Anyways I found a Military Record for Albert Turnbull born 1881 Soldier Number 8704, but have to pay more money to view record. Has anyone got full access to the more updated records for the Military that could possible get all the information for me.
