Carly Butler traces her grandmother's footsteps

Published on 13 Feb 2013 16:38 : 1 comment : 3309 views

Carly Butler is embarking on an epic journey to trace her grandmother's footsetps from England to Canada.

When Carly's grandmother died, she left behind a bundle of love letters from her to her husband, a canadian soldier who she met during WW2. Carly's grandmother endured a 9 month wait when the war was over, until she could be shipped over to Canada with hundreds of other war brides. During this time she detailed her daily life, hopes and dreams, and Carly is now using these letters to trace her grandmothers footsteps and literally stand in the same spot that her grandmother would have almost 70 years ago.
