Smedley my mysterious gt grandmother.

I cant find her marriage although from her daughters birth cert she uses a married name. I cant find her on the census. Gran is a nures child.

Cant find a death or possible remarriage. The same with grans father. No sign of him

These rellies are a pain. Gran names her father on her marriage cert.

My cousin who knew my gran said she told her she was brought up by aunts

Gran is living with a mother and daughter in 1891,1901. I checked these out by buying certs but I cant find any connection.
I think the " aunts" were of a non relative type

They can be a real pain. his x Grandad was around to impregnate a 13 year old then disappears off the face of the earth.

As for Grandma she was born out of wedlock and can't find her mother anywhere. It is a very common name around here and there are dozens of possibilites in the parish records :-(
