Hi Anne :-)
My Vitler / Vidler / Viteler / Videller family were from the Brookland / Fairfield area of Kent. However the earliest Vitler on my tree, my 4x Great Grandfather, was William Vitler who married Elizabeth Phillips in Brookland in 1809. He was of the Fairfield Parish at that time.

I cannot find a baptism record for him on any Kent Websites, but I have found a baptism for a William Vidler in Battle, Sussex in 1872, which would be about the right age. Probably not my William though!

My ancestors seem to have a link to Sussex. One family had 3 brothers (Kent) who married 3 sisters from Sussex, with a common family surname.

Jem, I had a look at one of my Kent cd roms which listed Fairfield but unfortunately only the marriages, your William was the only Vitler/Vidler on there which suggests he wasn't born there.

Hi Anne :-)
Thankyou for investigating that for me :-)
I did wonder if that was the case!

I've had to look up Kenward, Anne! I have 3,764 people on my tree and counting, and I've lost the plot in some huge families :-D :-D :-D

Now this one is complicated! My maternal Gran's WOOD (Kent) family. I have an Ellen B Wood from Orlestone, who married a White from Herts. They had a daughter born in Dorset (Edith) who married a George Kenward (b.c. 1889) origin unknown. Their son Stanley was born in Milton, Kent. That's if I'm right of course :-D :-D :-D

I have 2 Holmes (Kent) Polly
